Our adventure in Bali is coming to an end.
It has been a peaceful and rejuvenating experience.
The other day, we woke up at 5 a.m. to watch the sunrise over the local rice paddies.
We were even shown around an elementary school by a group of kids who couldn’t speak English.
The next afternoon, Matt and I did a Tai Chi class at the Yoga Barn. It was something neither of us has ever tried, so it was a little intimidating, but really relaxing.
Yesterday, Matt tried some traditional Balinese wood carving while I did a really challenging yoga class with a Yogi master.
Ubud is one of the few places that we have been able to slow down and really enjoy the culture.
Something as simple as sitting at a restaurant was amazing: within 20 minutes, two ceremonies passed by.
While Bali is probably the dirtiest place we’ve been (the streets are lined with garbage, and the water below the sidewalk is often used for bathing and washing dishes), the island is home to the most beautiful villas and spas I’ve ever seen.
Bali is definitely one our favourite spots so far.
